How Do You Know You’re Having an Orgasm?

by Jessica on

I came across this question in one of the blogs I frequently visit…

I feel so dumb for asking this and I’m probably answering my own question but I need to be sure.

Okay, before me and boyfriend were started doing stuff, I didn’t masturbate AT ALL. I got horny but I pretty much could do nothing about it. Then my boyfriend rubbed me in all the right spots, which resulted in me associating “White Light/White Heat” by the Velvet Underground with that day. But I digress XD

Since then, I have been getting myself off pretty regularly by rubbing my clit, but therein lies the problem. I don’t know exactly when I come, if I do come. I THINK I’ve pinpointed when I…get to a peak. I get the sensation where my whole body just tightens up and then it kind of subsides. If I try to touch myself after that, I’m all sensitive and I get all whimpery and stuff. It’s kind of the same thing when he eats me out. I just don’t know when I’ve come but it feels so nice. XD The only reason I’m asking here is I don’t know what an orgasm would feel like if I had one or have yet to have one. read more from vaginapagina

Ask any woman how orgasm feels and you’ll probably end up with so many variations of the same answer.
It’s great. The feeling is like no other. It’s mind-boggling. The feeling of female climax is so relative that it takes a really gifted poet, or a Grammy-award winning song writer to do it justice. But still, no two descriptions will be exactly the same.

Considering this, it’s safe to say that if you don’t know whether you have ever felt orgasm or not, you probably never had one. You just know.

Although the perception of the female climax may vary, there are some common physical events that happen during orgasm.

1. Your toes curl involuntarily
2. You pelvic muscles spasm incontrollably
3. You catch your breath and find that you’re gasping for air
4. You can hear your heart beating fast
5. Sweat breaks out on your forehead
6. Your hands shake
7. Your legs shake
8. Your back arches involuntarily
9. Your hands become fists that clutch desperately at the sheets (or his shoulders)
10. Your nipples tighten and tingle
11. Your limbs may stiffen then tingle (go numb) for a few minutes
12. Your clitoris feels like it’s the only spot in your body that could feel sensation acutely
13. You flinch when air touches your clitoris
14. Your genital area becomes so sensitive that feeling him pull his penis out from your vagina is unbearable

Come to think of it, some of the items on this list are still relative, and some these may not even be too obvious in other women. I’ve heard of women who climax quietly. There are some who can’t control their emotions and burst out crying when they climax. There are some whose bodies become extremely sensitive to touch that they push their lovers away when they’re in the throes.

The feeling of climax varies from woman to woman, but there’s no mistaking it. It’s too … mind-boggling… to ignore.
